The first 4 days in Greece were exciting as I went directly to Porto Astro Camp which is about 2 hours drive north of Athens. It is on the beautiful Aegean Sea about 30 klm from Halkida. I was involved with Bible Teaching in the mornings and Sketch-board training and Gospel Magic in the afternoons. Here is a picture of some of the team.

Following the training camp I journeyed by ferry with a small team to the Island of Ios to do a few days of evangelism in the streets and squares. We were able to encourage a small group of believers, (the only evangelical witness on the island), by joining with them for several Bible studies. It was encouraging for us as well as we saw and heard how the Lord has been working amongst them. It was a joy to meet new converts who had been won to the Lord in recent months.

Pray for our Christian brothers and sisters on the island of Ios because things are not easy for them being the only “Christian Witness” amongst a myriad of “new age people”, staunch “Greek Orthodox” followers, and many party revellers who visit the island during the summer months to “party” on the beaches and in the many bars and nightclubs that are there.

On Sunday night I fly out of Athens to Ghana and will appreciate your prayers for my time of ministry there.

Hope to have another report here soon so pop back for a look-see.

Please leave comments below to let me know you are praying.

Thanks… Dave

On the way out… switch off the lights!

Not exactly what we were asked to do but the first part of this statement is true. We are on our way out of Romania.

It has been such a blessing to be here in Alba Iulia. This is a city right in the centre of Romania. We have had great opportunities of doing outreach and sketch-board training with two different teams of young people. We also did some outreach over the weekend in the main city square. We were overwhelmed with the number of people out on the

streets and excited and encouraged when so many stopped to listen to the Gospel presentations and

stayed right through the entire programs. There were a lot who even stayed longer after the street meetings to talk and discuss Spiritual things. It is such a joy to see the Lord working through us and these new team members as they reach out into the lives of people who so desperately need the Lord. Win was especially encouraged when a woman she was talking with, through a Romanian lady who interpreted for her, was so interested in hearing the Gospel.

This week we have been running training sessions every day. We were pleased to see how quickly those who attended learnt how to handle a brush and paint and were able to sketch several messages by the end of the 3-day course.

In regard to “switching off the lights” I was able to run a permanent power line from the main house at the OAC centre down to the back garden and into the garage. This means that the staff here can play music and show movies in the back garden to their “associate staff”, helpers, youth club, etc. Every Wednesday evening a lot of young people come over for this. Tonight they showed one of the “Left Behind” series videos on the wall to the young people. It’s great to be able to use some of my building skills to help and encourage others in the ministry from time to time.

We just sent out a new “Prayer Update” email. Did you get a copy? If not then please email us on windaveknight@hotmail.com and ask to be put on our email list.

Thanks again for your prayers.

Blessings and MORE Blessings!

Bardon is an interesting town.

Outreach in the main street of Bardon

It has several health spars that make use of the natural mineral springs. It also boasts the largest Casino in Europe. There are many folk who live in Bardon and commute every day to work in Vienna.

Win, Chris and I spent several days doing outreach in the town centre. We were there during the lunch hour and also back again around 5pm when workers and shop assistants finish work. We had a lot of good conversations with people after our street meetings. Monica and Hartmut, whose home we stayed in while in Bardon, also helped with translation and it was great working with them.

We were very encouraged when they loaned us their car to travel to Romania. This was a great blessing and has saved us the expense of renting a vehicle.

On the way to Romania we were also able to spend a couple of days visiting some special friends in Hungary. Alex and Timea served the Lord together with us when we worked with Word of Life in the UK. It was so wonderful to reminisce and talk over all the good times we shared together with Word of Life. They were great days!

Here in Romania we have been based at the Open Air Campaigners centre in Alba Iulia. It is named “Beracah” which means “House of Blessing”. It certainly has been a great blessing to be here serving the Lord with Traian and Lydia, a Romanian couple who run the ministry here. We have been involved in a youth meeting, conducted a children’s meeting and put on a program at an old people’s home. We also spent a couple of days training some young people in sketch-board techniques. We have open-air meetings planned for tonight and tomorrow night in the city square and then more sketch-board training next week. We will appreciate your prayers for us over the next few days.
